The Self Improvement and NLP Blog - enriching seminars

Hi folks, greetings once again from Sally Klaus.

Attending seminars is a really enriching experience both for self improvement and also for networking socially. Similarly conducting seminars is also exciting and enhancing our confidence.

I once conducted a motivational workshop in one of the hotels in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpus is the capital of Malaysia and a bustling city. The workshop was attended by supervisors of that particular hotel. The boss felt that, after many years of working , some of the supervisors become jaded and indifferent. So he invited me to give a motivational workshop.

This workshop was supposed to spruce up the team spirit and work improvement in the hotel. At first, the supervisors were reluctant participants because they were asked to attend by their boss. Their angry looks soon turned into giggling and hearty faces because I started the workshop wtih humour and fun activity.

Humour is a very important part of our self enrichment journey. Often people do not have fun in their lives so they become very low in self esteem and lacking drive in whatever they do. So when I added some jokes and fun into the workshop; some of them could relate to the jokes . They became talkative and excitable. Yes, it was the connection that enabled them to let down their hair and involved in the workshop.

They were motivated and highly excited at the end of the workshop and asked me to conduct other programmes for them in future. I was happy to have shared with them some enriching experience and also given them self confidence in the process.

They gave me feedback such as ,"never realised wokshops could be fun and enriching", "ah ya, should have attended more of such seminars and workshops in the past..." I was touched by such positive comments. It was good for my self esteem too. I felt elevated and stimulated to work harder for my personal improvement too.

So when I conducted another workshop, I was able to give more jokes and added more humour to spice up the programme. The effect of humour was indeed enriching and refreshing. The feedback was even better than the first.

My first workshop happened 10years ago. Today I have travelled round the region, giving talks and seminars to different groups of people. For me, it was learning each time I conducted any seminar. When there was positive feedback it boosted my self esteem and increased my self confidence. When there was negative feedback, I would work harder to improve those areas of inadequacy.

You should try to conduct a simple workshop at your workplace or even volunteer to host an event to enrich your life experience and improve your lives. It is a wonderful feeling standing in front of a group of captive audience.

Truly, whether you are attending or conducting a seminar or workshop, the enrichment is boundless and immensely useful for our life journeys. The subtle improvements to our lives are beyond words.

Cheers
Sally Klaus
