How to circumnavigate round obligations and feel good about ourselves
Today as I was having lunch with an old friend, he suddenly mentioned that life is full of obligations and we have to fulfil them due to various reasons. He was rather upset by this kind of demands.
Let me share with you the trick of going through such obligations by circumnavigating round this issue and feel good about the performing of the obligations happily after that.
People usually think it is so unpleasant to have to do this and do that for example going through school day itself can be tortuous for many people who hate going to school and listening to teachers’ nagging lessons.
Well, the think is that we can actually prepare ourselves by mentally doing something different i.e looking at the obligations or events in a different light. This makes you feel great and happy.
Say, for example, if you think the teaching is nagging or talking in a boring lesson, you can turn your attention to people around you, your books in front of you by really imagining that they are somewhat play things. This distraction will enable you to feel good inside. Time will then fly by very quickly. Of course occasionally you got to look up so that the teacher knows you are not completely “lost”.
Our minds are powerful processors of information and can give you improved well being once you set your mind to enjoy whatever that comes along.
This simple technique is to enable you to experience goodness out of anything boring. I tried that in one party where it was so boring because the host kept ranting on and on about the achievements he has accomplished for the past many years. I switched my mind off and imagined other more exciting things while watching others respond nonchalantly to the monologue. It became an engrossing event for me because I thoroughly enjoyed myself as if I were listening to the speaker.
Using this distraction for your mind when you face with boring situations can improve your wellbeing while allowing you to feel good about any events, or obligations you face because you already “make up your mind to enjoy it”
This powerful imagination has given me lots of confidence and enhance my life tremendously.
