Self Improvement - Apologising and Apologies are good for you

Hi folks, I have something interesting to share about how to improve our lives and live well . It is the matter of apologizing to the people we have hurt knowingly or unknowingly.

If we want our lives to be meaningful and full of power, we must learn to apologize sincerely and not to justify our mistakes. Many of us admit our mistakes but we go on to justify why we did that mistake. This is not an apology but a rationalization or justification of what went wrong.

Instead I would like to propose that we realize first we are not perfect and we need help to improve our lives with people around us. So to be really sorry, we have to first acknowledge that we have done a wrong to someone we know.

Face the person squarely if possible and then tell the person that you are very sorry to have cause hurt or injury either physically or emotionally.

If the person refuses to accept this, then you are free to go on with your life because you have made an effort to erase that pain. However if the person forgives you and accepts the apology , then it is even better to make good your wrongdoing by asking whether you can help make life better for the other person by doing a deed for him or her.

To improve our lives daily, we have to be on the lookout to do things mindfully and not to cause hurt wherever possible. This will then enhance our being of living life to the best of our capabilities.
